From the manual, supported inputs:
1080 60i(30p, 24p, 24pa), 720 60P (30p, 24P).
While I recognize from your posts that you are new to this and are doing a lot of experimentation, I suggest that you pick a format to work with in the HVX and FS and keep with it. The sweet spot for the camera and FS is 720P 24p. If you are shooting for a tv network use 1080i. I always shoot in 720P. Using the QT mode allows you to edit directly in FCP. If you choose to want the extra log and capture step, shoot P2 mode. There is no difference at all in quality using one over the other. Yes that is how the FS and FCP handle the files. Also the HVX has to be in 720P24P mode to communicate with the FS. pN is for the P2 card. The FS and FCP do the (“pulldown”) manipulation of the frame rate.

You simply drag all your clips on the timeline and select Render>QT movie (NOT QT conversion), current settings. Or Nest your sequence. I prefer the latter because then you still have control of all the separate clips.

You will also probably need to upgrade the firmware on your various output cards, video card and Raid arrays to have them preform properly in Leopard.

You can preset the TC you want on the FS or use the ext TC from the camera. You choose this before you start shooting.

Either Render all the clips into a single file or just nest the clips into a new comp. Either way is a quick and easy way to do what you are asking.

Yes, switch to a Toyota vehicle (Toyota Financial Services).
They are having some great deals on leasing now.
My last 6 leasing vehicles have been through them.
I have also never had mechanical problems with any of their vehicles.
