Thanks everyone for your help and insight.

I believe we’re going to go with DT Video Labs and Playback Pro. I emailed them really late one night, and they were johnny-on-the-spot, getting back to me within the hour.

Their representative stated that through “discreet output channels” within QT settings, that Playback Pro can manage multi-channel playback with the video. So this is great! His example of such is the massive amount of multi-audio channelling that the Blue Man Group stage productions employ with their product.

So there’s my answer. That, with an M-Audio ProFire 610 to physically split the audio, and all in all, my client and I are spending less than $6000 for all of the hardware for the production. This makes the two of us very happy.

When we’re out there gigging, I’ll make sure to post some some pictures or video for this thread to see the end result of your advice.

Alright, I’ve sent correspondence to each company, and will hopefully get responses soon.

I will say though that the full on media-servers will be a no-go. Much too expensive for our budget.

To continue the audio side of the discussion, I’m thinking about utilizing an Apogee Ensemble connected via firewire to handle the audio. Through its Maestro control interface, I (hopefully) can designate which audio channels can be sent through which 1/4″ TRS outputs.

Does that sound logical?

I’ve got going a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB of 1067MHz DDR3 RAM and running the project’s source files from a SimpleTech Duo Pro external desktop drive via FireWire 800.

Yes, I am using Compressor’s H.264 Q’time setting.

I have not yet uploaded them to YouTube because they’re appearing squished in Quicktime (v7.6.0)

Computer is a MacBook Pro with Leopard v10.5.6
My Compressor version is v.3.0.5
Final Cut Pro version is v.6.0.5
My source codec is 1920×1080 Apple ProRes 422 Integer (Little Endian), with Timecode
My desired output is an H.264 fit for fast web streaming or something akin to such

And overall, I need it to keep it’s 16:9 aspect ratio after compression.

Well, that’s really nice and I think I’ll use that for a different aspect of this project, but what I’m looking more for is a fan of lasers that are made out there for light shows at concerts.
