Yes, it was sorted after I spoke to Panasonic (Canada) directly. It was something to do with the power system I believe. In any case, they fixed it under warranty, though it took a few weeks for the parts to come from Japan.

Did you ever get this resolved?

I’ve got a LH1700WE and find it near unusable. It’s been sent back to Panasonic once already and has just came back even louder and “whinier” than before.
