The one I’m around sure’s quiet… maybe you should have it looked at?

The fan is on by default. The manaul doesn’t specify under what conditions you would want the fan on or off. I’ve always kept mine off on the LH1700, and I’ve turned off the fan on my new LH2600.

I just installed my LH2600W and it has the same high pitched hum/whine. It’s not the fan, or at least it’s not the normal fan noise. ED, were you able to fix this, or get your monitor replaced?

    (I know… I’m digging up posts from way past…)

Did you ever get this resolved?

I’ve got a LH1700WE and find it near unusable. It’s been sent back to Panasonic once already and has just came back even louder and “whinier” than before.

    Hello Christopher,

This is an old post but did you ever come to a solution for this problem?… I have this same unit doing the same thing.

Did Panasonic fix it and how much if it was out of warranty?

    Thanks.

Yes, it was sorted after I spoke to Panasonic (Canada) directly. It was something to do with the power system I believe. In any case, they fixed it under warranty, though it took a few weeks for the parts to come from Japan.
