    Here’s what I did.

Copied the folder containing the spanned clip eg A
Pasted it in the same folder eg A copy
    Renamed it eg B
    Opened the folder
Opened CLIP > deleted all the files except the spanned file eg xxx.XML
AUDIO > deleted all the files except the spanned file eg xxx.MFX
ICON > deleted all the files except the spanned file eg xxx.BMP
    PROXY >
VIDEO > deleted all the files except the spanned file eg xxx.MXF
    VOICE >

Then I imported the folder eg B into FCP

I repeated the above process with each clip that was in the folder renaming the folder eg C, D etc until I had a sep folder for each clip.

And this remedied the problem and I was able to import all the footage that I shot into FCP.

As an aside I’ll watch in future when shooting the camera and try to avoid shooting over 4G IGS a take. I’ve not ever experienced this before.

Actually, that’s exactly what I did – in every respect and it worked out just fine.

I’m not sure if this is the best way to handle this, but here’s a step by step method that worked for me:

    COPY FOLDER
    PASTE FOLDER AND RENAME IT
    OPEN > MUST INCLUDE LASTCLIP.TXT > THEN > GO INTO CONTENTS :
    AUDIO > xxx.MFX
    CLIP > xxx.XML
    ICON > xxx.BMP
    PROXY >
    VIDEO > xxx.MXF
    VOICE >

REPEAT PROCESS FOR EACH CLIP AND ENSURE IT HAS ITS OWN FOLDER W/ MATCHING LASTCLIP.TXT AND CONTENTS: AUDIO, CLIP, ICON, PROXY, VIDEO, VOICE

    IN FCP
CLICK ON FILE>IMPORT>PANASONIC P2 AND IMPORT EACH FOLDER W/ INDIVIDUAL CLIP
