    Is it possible that there’s something flaky with your computer?
    Have you tried giving even one of your files to you r friend to see if they play OK for him?
    Have you tried capturing from a completely different set of tapes to see if you still have the problem?
    What camera was the material shot with?
    Is this NTSC or PAL footage?
    ==================================

    My computer is fine I guess, the same problems occurs on my laptop and on the computer 0f my friend.

    I haven’t tried to capture from a different set of tapes. You mean another project? Just to see how it works?
    The video was shot with a Sony DV Cam dsr-pdx10p in PAL.

    hope this helps…

    thanks!

    Maybe I wasn’t clear indeed, I’ll tell you exactly what I’m trying to achieve.

    We are indeed talking about DV-AVI files. I imported it in Vegas edited and made the film. Everything was fine then. The source files, the DV-AVI files don’t have sound in player, except in quicktime and vegas.

    My friend wants the source material because he want’s to make his own version. However I had 3 tapes, so I thought it would have been easier if I just copied it on a hard drive in stead of burning it on DVD’s.

    I just found out the original source material has the same problem. No sound in any player except Quicktime. However I made a succesfull Montage with the material in Vegas. I never experienced anything like this….:S

    I use Video Vegas 7.0 , the files that I imported are just from a Sony DV camera, I used the normal DV import function in Vegas.

    It is weird because the sound works in Video Vegas, but if I play the imported Raw file, it won’t have sound in Windows media player ( &Classic), VLC doesn’t provide sound, and also Windows movie Maker don’t give sounds, only Quicktime, but the video quality is really bad in Quicktime.

    Thanks for your help already!
