I currently use Encore for Blu-Ray authoring and will continue to use FCS of course, do I like Encore? No, but it gets the job done. If it cost more for DVDSP to author in Blu-ray would I pay for it? Yes…the upgrade is $299…a steal, but I would pay $1000+ for an upgrade because it is worth it and the money is easily made back. Just one man’s opinion.

Why not say “Blu-Ray” there is no reason that DVDSP should not support Blu-Ray authoring at this point. Yes, Compressor 3.5 allows for Blu-Ray burning….but who in the professional world uses template menus? There’s no excuse, there should not be a new FCS without an Blu-Ray ready DVDSP

Thanks for the fast reply Kristian. I have the component going to a BetaSP deck, then the composite output from the Beta to the monitor. The deck shows and error code on it’s display.

..already edited in the timeline. The video source is 1920×1080 DVCPRO HD.

Thanks for the fast response. Yes I don’t know what would have happened to change the settings. The first element in the sequence is actually a large format still image, larger than 1920×1080 (scaled down of course).

Reading in the manual I see that the sequence can be affected by the first item in the timeline. Even so when I change the easy setup and sequence settings it makes the video (not the graphics) very small.
