An easy animation…I just cant figure it out
I have a straight line of text that I want to bend into a “U” shape. I created a path just can’t figure out how to tell AE it animate the path not make the text animate on the path.

I thought that the best way to do this would be to create a path for the text to follow. So the path is straight across, then I would make it a “u” shape. I just don’t know how to animate that path from a straight line to a “U” shape.
There is probably an easier way to do this. Again I am just looking to make a straight line of text bend down into a “u” shape

Create your mask on the text layer as a straight line, add a vertex at about the midpoint of the straight line. Set a keyframe on the mask path property, then move forward and move the middle vertex down, use the pen tool to create the bezier curve as you want it at this point. Then under the Text’s Path Options choose the mask you just animated as the Path.
That should be it unless I’m misunderstanding.
