If you’re NOT creating moves on a still – then bring in stills that match your sequence settings. If you are creating moves on still, make roughly double the size of your sequence.

If you’re doing a time-lapse…from stills, batch process the stills to the size of your sequence.

The “Quicktime conversions” menu (Export)is where you select image sequence.

It’s fine to keep your “Project” files on the OS drive.
Keep Media on another drive.

You shouldn’t edit off USB drives.

Just drop your 720 clip into your 1080 timeline – no worries. FCP will handle it for you.

Do you have photoshop?
Export a still.
Open in PS.
Cut out shoulder.
Save.
Re-import into FCP.
Put Shoulder still on track 2.
Videos on Track 1.

you should be able to drop the 720X480 clip into the 720X486 sequence easy enough without issue.

If you do a FULL render on the vid b/4 the plural eyes sync – does that work?

Don’t edit H.264 files.
Convert before import or Transcode on ingest.

.h264 is an acquisition and delivery format only and not made for editing.
