I would suggest NOT working with Jpeg’s, really, it’s a compressed format. Convert them first.
PNG.
Tiff’s.
PSD.
Targa’s.OR, if timelapse, create a mov file out of them.
Hard drives are cheap, drop the off-line (proxy) approach and save yourself the work.Chris Tompkins

Aim for around -12 on your audio levels in FCP.
When you have everything mixed in relation to each other and you are happy, export a 48k, 16bit, .AIF file. from you time line. Make sure the music (you wanted it separate) is not in there.
Re-import your aif file and drop it in the sequence. You can still adjust volume of the new mixed down track in relation to your music.
When edit is done:
Export “current Settings”
Take that into compressor.
Choose a DVD preset.
Turn on frame controls.
Set to best.
Adjust data rate to match vid length.
When done, import your vid and aud files into DVDSP.
Select widescreen for the display mode.3X4 TV’s will display letterboxed and widescreen sets will fill screen.

If you have quick motion like a hand or arm dropping fast there will be motion blur – it’s difficult to key.

Some say progressive is easier to key then interlaced.

Place the clips you want to copy in a new comp. Place them in the tracks you want them to land in when pasting.
Layer 3 & 4 for example.
They paste to the same tracks you copy from. SO, put in the same tracks and copy then select the destination sequence and paste.

Some say progressive keys a little better then interlaced for green screen work.
If you can test, try different shutter speeds. Think about motion blur.I would shoot it 1080i_60i for the most rez. But another good choice would be 720p_60p with a shutter around 120.
Good even lighting on the screen and no spill on the subject matters a whole lot more for this kind of thing really, focus on that. Most HD settings will yield good results.

You can only adjust brightness and contrast. Also, color on or off.

If it were me, I would keep bugging them for at least another 8 months.
