DVD’s use MPEG2 with 4:2:0 color space
DVCPRO50 is 4:2:2

You can’t add what is not there.

Create a sequence:

DV50 NTSC 720×480 Anamorphic
(Although France is SECAM L)

Open all your stills in Photoshop and change the dpi to 72
If you’re creating moves on the stills you’ll want them around 1000-1500 along one side in size.

If they are not getting any moves, Make then 720×480

File types:

png
targa
tiff
psd

use jpeg as a last resort.

When the edit is done.

Change the sequence settings to 10 bit Uncompressed.

Export sequence using “Current Settings”
Drop that file in to your compression program and create the DVD files.

Adobe Premiere Pro will work with the card media naively – fyi.

JVC cameras can record straight to mov files.

Anything above dv50 is overkill coming from a DVD.

Here are your settings:

Save a preset.

You have not posted which camera you have.
Jittery playback can be the result of many things.
What hard drives/raid are you using?

Make sure they match.
Camera Settings and your capture settings.
Turn device control off.
Have camera on and plugged in before you launch FCP.

There are a few ways to to this.
One is to ramp up the levels. AE does this well.
Use your Color correction filter and key frame.
