    the error reads:
Expression disabled. error at line 1 in property ‘Source Text’ of layer 1(‘$669Bto the Pentagon for fiscal year 2018) in comp ‘Comp 2’.
    Expected: ;.

Is it missing a closing semi colon somewhere?

to be clear, I’m adding the expression to the source text keyframe correct? I’m getting an error when I add this expression there.

September 15, 2015 at 11:33 pm in reply to: Editing with GH4 4K in Premiere Pro CC. Workflow?

Hello, so are you editing GH4 4K natively in Premier? I’m trying to decide if I should rent a GH4 and dive into 4k or stick with my GH2 for a short film shoot. I’d hate to spend the extra $ on the GH4 then end up having to convert all the ftg with some 3rd party software and possibly have quality issues.

Also can my machine handle the 4k files if I run them off a G Drive thunderbolt / USB 3 external drive?
The specs on my machine are:
    Macbook 2.7 Ghz Intel i7
    16GB Mhz DDR3
Intel HD graphics 4000 1024 MB

    Macbook 2.7 Ghz Intel Core i7 / 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 / NVIDIA GeForce GT650M 1024 MB graphics / Apple Thunderbolt Display /
    OS X 10.8.4

  • Did anyone ver figure this bug out? I just found this fix for Premier Elements. Will it work for Premier Pro?

Hello, I am having a similar issue. My footage is shot on an unhacked GH2. Plays fine in the cam. I made a disk image of the card and tried importing the footage directly from the disk image. Only the first clip has audio and it is really low gain. I transcoded the same footage in FCP Studio into pro res and it is all fine. I guess I’ll cut this in FCPStudio but I’d like to leave it behind. Is the problem the disk image?

  • Thanks, my stills cache was set to 10%, increasing it seems to help a lot.

  • Ah, things are becoming clearer. The sequence is a bio piece with a lot of large stills mixed in with talking heads. The stills are already animated in that they are panned around and some graphics are floated over them. I’m going to try the send to Motion method and see if the stills retain their key points. thank you!

  • The stills are mostly head shots of various sizes soft dissolved and panned around each other. The framing is pretty specific. I would have used AE but I’m coming to this project so late in the game, the original post house is no longer involved. Anyways thanks for the advice, though it’s not what I wanted to hear. I was hoping there was some magic way to allocate more ram/processing power, or whatever is needed through an apple utility, but I guess that’s unrealistic. I’m not tech savy enough to know.

  • I don’t think I’m tech savvy enough to do such a thing. Are you talking abt building a workstation in a PC body, then installing the Mac OS? I guess it sounds pretty straight forward but the HP Z series workstations (that admittedly outdo the macpro) are up arnd $3000, which is more than the refurbished macs I’m looking at (granted I’d get more for my money). So how do I assemble my ideal workstation without going through a dealers/manufacturer’s service? I’ve nver done more with hardware than upgrading some ram.
