  • Jumbled audio with AVCHD from GH2 in PPro5.5

So I’ve recently become so annoyed by Final Cut that I’ve switched over to attempt to edit my current project in Premiere Pro. So far, I’m regretting not switching earlier. But I’m having an issue with some of my footage.

I have about 120 clips from one of my sd cards. the 1st 47 all have the same problem while the rest are fine. The audio channel is jumbled. By which i mean every second or so it jumps to a different temporal part of the clip. The video stays continuous, but the audio is out of sync, but with no rhyme or reason as to where it is.

What I had already transcoded to Prores 422 lt in FCP is fine. It plays fine from the camera, so I don’t suspect damaged media. This occurs when I pul from the actual card or my HD backup I made of the drive structure. It also plays fine in Toast, which I have used to transcode my AVCHD files ion the past.

Worse case, I use the transcoded footage along with the native footage, but I got really excited about editing these .mts files natively.

Anyone every seen anything like this?

PS: On a 2.66Ghz MacBook Pro with 8G Ram, running 10.7.3

I’m in the same exact boat. Have about 70 clips and the first 25 or so audio is all jumbled.

Just recently switched over to Premiere after using Final Cut 7.

    What I’m using
    Footage shot from a GH2
    File type is .mts
    Premiere Pro CS6
    Macbook Pro 2.6GHz i7 with 16gb ram (OS X 10.8.2)

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Hello, I am having a similar issue. My footage is shot on an unhacked GH2. Plays fine in the cam. I made a disk image of the card and tried importing the footage directly from the disk image. Only the first clip has audio and it is really low gain. I transcoded the same footage in FCP Studio into pro res and it is all fine. I guess I’ll cut this in FCPStudio but I’d like to leave it behind. Is the problem the disk image?
