Hey Jeremy… I had another question you know how last night you were saying that the monitor I have since its consumer cant handle 30fps? Is this only when playing out of FCP? Because i can take a SEQ that i have rendered out of FCP at uncompressed 30fps and open/play it through aja tv.

Well my machine is the last to touch it but we usually go with different sound people all the time so i know that having it at 30fps final is very important.
Is it something that its either or? Like either I stay 30fps and not have the tv preview? or the other way around? They are mostly video game cinematic so they go to the gaming client

Yea Timing is pretty important since Ill be syncing up voices and when we send for the scoring and sound mixes to be done they go off my edit.
The only reason i was editing in that type of timeline was so we could view it on the tv and be able to see how the colors and stuff looked on there.

Well Its animation. Stuff thats coming out of Maya/other 3d apps. So all of our comps/render and mocap need to be at 30fps The final ideally would be uncompressed 10bit 1280×720 30fps.

okay but since i need to deliver in 30fps is it okay to have my time line set to 29.97? wont that cause me to have to render out each shot since the shots will be 30fps? That always confused me… I know that it has to be either 59.97 or 29.97 to watch on the tv but then how is it correct to deliver/render out a final at 30?

well my boss wants our final output to be 10bit
so to come from a PC comp guy I would have them deliver me the v210 30fps 720p
my FCP timeline would Uncompressed 10-bit 59.94
Now I would have no problem exporting that at 30fps right? I was goign with the 59.94 bc I want playback on my tv.
Also how do you think my system will handle it? I know i wont be getting anywhere close to a true real time but do you think that it will drop frames on playback?
Is there a better way to do this?
