[Jeremy Garchow] “WHen exactly are you seeing the shift? Is it after they make the v210 movie? Or are you only seeing it on the Mac?
Well Im seeing the shift when they’re giving me the v210. Ill compare movies in FCP and you can see the difference.
DO you have After Effects on your Mac?”
Yes I do .
I was reading somewhere online that sometimes when clients ask for UNCOMPRESSED they really mean NONE.. is that true? And wouldnt it be more true then that if they didnt know what platform you were working on? For example Im the only MAC in my whole studio bc we’re animation and since PC’s uncompressed is “none” wouldnt that be a possibility?

Video is YUV,
all of your Video Displays are YUV.
Your delivery is YUV”Well my boss wants to stick with the same codec that were getting from
comp so there is no color shift.. So Id have to deliver at NONE or
ANIMATION correct? And that is my main question is there a way to work
in FCP with either one of those codecs and have it play back smoothly? -
okay.. well is there a way to play rgb on aja? I know this is opening another chapter in this conversation but basically what my comp guys see on their screens is an image seq(RGb) when they are delivering to me in the aja its getting that shift bc its going to YUV.. Now I guess my question is is there a way to be able to edit in FCP with the RGB? and output to the TV using aja? with out getting the drop frames?
-
okay.. why is that? Also I noticed that when comparing the v210 to the comp i got the other day that was “none” I get a huge gamma shift. The NONE is alot brighter then the aja v210 is something with the aja codec?

The whole 30 fps I am going to have to have a discussion with my boss about.. it doesnt make sense to me either. When Im setting up an easy set up, or rather creating one should I noticed the video processing tab was set as “render in 8-bit YUV” shouldnt it be Render 10-bit material in high precision yuv?
-
Well the reason i couldnt get the 30 to play on the tv was because i didnt see an easy set up that was uncompressed 10bit 30fps.
So I think I am back to the same issue we left with last night. Either edit in 59.94 and get the display on the tv but then when delivering the final to the client I suppose to should render as 30fps? or should I be working with 29.97?
Or edit at 30fps and just have to render out the whole timeline to be able to view it in AjA tv.
I will have you know though I had my comp guys deliver me a v210 and I set up my seq 59.94 10bit and it looks so much better! Even after rendering it out of FCP. When exporting it I did File >export>quicktime is that wrong? Should I use quicktime conversion? or Compressor?

ohh well its set to AJAKona 720p 59.94
SO i guess then it is not playing on the tv at 30fps..
Interesting…So does that mean that the change is so different that is almost goes unnoticed? Because I know when watching the Finals on AJA tv that are rendered out in 30fps with final audio.. I never noticed anything off with the audio even though apperently we were outputting them to the TV at 59.94
