After I installed my GTX-970 some months ago I got quickly used to turn on and off the GPU support in preferences. Some projects render fine with GPU, but some stuck – from the beginning or sometimes after several minutes. I suppose it depends on the filters I use – but I haven’t indulged deeply. Some Vegas build/driver combination may fix it. Turning off GPU support, for me and so far, has ALWAYS helped.

LOTS OF THANKS for that tip!! Works perfectly, saves me lots of restart(-trials) and re-installs and now even saves me the time of going thru the VIEWS tree. Some options just never come to your mind unless you get a kick!

Hi. Vegas13 seems to have issues with subclips – sometimes I can’t even put them on a timeline; that’s why I found your post…
A workaround that came to my mind: Put all your subclips on a timeline and have them batch-rendered into intermediate files. Good luck!
