Ok here is another strange development,
Remember I have a bunch of audio captured off a lav mic
When I reconnect the media and just reconnect the video first then play it, it plays fine. Then I reconnect the lav audio it works great. Video plays fine.
But if I reconnect both before I try and play thats when everything stops working. Thoughts?

Its not hard drive thats for sure, it works fine. I tried XML4 exports and nothing works, help?

I have ran a speed test and everything is fine. Also I doubt its hard drive as the files play fine if I re-import them.

Neither it is on an secondary internal drive, so the drive speed should not be an issue.

Its on an internal drive that is just dedicated to video, and I believe his final cut is version 6 as well.
I think the Ram is ok as the files play just fine in quicktime and they play just fine if I drag them to the timeline, its just all the existing work he has done that does not play. Its very strange.

Well I did move the media to my computer and I believe we had to move a folder. The problem with starting from scratch is that the total project is about 30 hours of video and it is all synced to different audio, so if I start from scratch I would have to re sync everything and that would just be impossible. Any other options?
I have even thought of moving the project to Premiere on my windows box but the XML file wont transfer. Thoughts? And again I appreciate all the help.

Ok well I found a few new things out.
First my clients mac is almost identical to mine and the project plays fine.
So he synced the audio somehow, using a plugin maybe? I am not sure about this.
When I drag the video files from the bin to the timeline they play fine, its just the existing clips that are in the timeline that don’t work. But if I drag the exact same clip in they work. I did have to reconnect all the media when I first got the project. Any other thoughts? Thanks!
