That AI is very clever. However, the result is a little nonsensical. It reminds me of a movie called “It Follows”, which I recently watched. In this movie, the director inserted little elements that were contradictory, like old landline phones in the same space as a modern refrigerator. Anyway, the fundamental concern I have is that the backdrop is quite close to the model, and the AI doesn’t resolve that.

I have a related question. I have to light a shot about the same width. I have some natural window light, but the room is dim. I own exactly two new 500 bulb daylight LED panels. Two panels is about 15% of what I would need to it properly, but it is all I have. Will two panels create an uneven lighting that is worst than no panels at all? Is it even worth setting the panels up?

Question: Is it better to shoot in black and white and shoot in color and covert post to black and white. ( I use a cannon 5d Mark iii)

Maybe you are right. Maybe I misunderstand what the white balance can accomplish.

  • What do you think about my theory of the spectrum, and little nuances in the spectrum that aren’t represented by the average “temperature”.

Thanks again for the advise on bleaching. I did some reading, and it appears you are correct that bleaching won’t work to dampen the solid black. So I ordered a bunch of dance shorts in the “slate grey” and “charcoal”. Hope something fits everybody.

Thanks Todd for the length note. You pretty much confirm what I thought. The problem is that dance shorts do not come in many colors. However, I just did a check and there are two other color possibilities. They have purchased “black”, but you can also buy “charcoal” and “nude”. I will buy their shorts in a charcoal color. On another track, I may take one of their shorts and try bleaching it. I have never done this before. It might require skills I don’t have. I’ll get back to you.

I found a connector that lets me put a ball head camera mount on top of a C-stand. We did a quick shoot, and there doesn’t appear to be shaking in the video. Thanks for the ideas.

    > I’m just thinking that jib shots would normally be pretty stable

I was thinking that the jib arm is potentially a place for more vibration. I would need to secure the jib so it can’t move up and down. Maybe I should give it a try.

The camera is just a canon 5D, with tripod head.

Those Avenger stands look sturdy, now how to mount a tripod head at the top?

    A ladder…nice cheap idea. thanks.

Hi Ty, I just bought your Cd “Audio bootcamp Field guide…” I look forward to reading it. I was wondering if you have a message board where I can ask you some additional questions about audio? I am currently not doing Facebook. Are there any other options for conversing with you?
