Hmmm… that makes sense. So it is arguably a fix and I’m just stuck having been relying on the old ‘wrong’ default.

Thanks for taking a look Jeff.

It seems odd to me that they did this. What did it fix by changing it?

To me, having those poster frames where they were was perfect. Is there something obviously weird with my workflow here? Is there some standard of holding the slate in frame that I’m missing?

I guess I’ll time out where that new sampled frame is being taken from and just be sure to hold that long going forward.

If not the JVC cameras, could anyone recommend another solid state recording workflow that might apply?

I’ve looked at P2 and XDCAM workflows but there are usually format-specific utilities to use.

About 5 years ago I used the CHV Morph-collection:

I don’t know if it’s up to date but it worked very well for me.

A bit of a tricky interface but you can really set-up a tight grid if you want or just go fast and loose.
