The footage was shot on a sony v1 using 25 progressive, so ive been using the 25p template in final cut to import the footage. The deck is already set to off. i used the same kit to import into Imovie which worked fine so i think its a problem with Final cut.

    Hi

The Sony VTR is connected via firewire and the footage is on Minidv tape. The weird thing is i am using the same settings as i have done in the past with no problems, i have the easy set-up set to HDV firewire basic 25p and started a new project every time to try it.

    Any ideas?

  • Hi

I have a JVC HD7 and found the same problem,i now have a solution if a little tedious. Install the Cyberlink software you got with the camera and open edit – preferences and choose an import folder. Now import footage straight from your camera in the software and you will find that it imports fully working avi files into your import folder that you can use in what ever edit software you like. This keeps your footage perfect with no loss of quality.

    Hi

With my JVC HD7 i had Cyberlink Power director. Open it and open EDIT – OPTIONS and choose an export folder. Then import your footage into the program, what you will find is that the files you have imported have been converted into MPEGS in your export folder, its the simplest way ive found so far, from there you can import into what ever software you like.

    Hi,sorry.

Im using adobe premier pro and want to export to maybe a quicktime or AVI file whichever holds the best quality at the smaller size. My screen size is 1920 x 1080 so i wanted to export at this size if possible so i keep the quality for future uses like burning onto blueray.

    cheers
