I’m sure BM is sitting there watching these third party companies get a $1500 gravy train off their $995 product (or free for the Lite). How many peeps would be spending the $1500 if it wasn’t for Resolve.

Now noticing if I have a clip with an alpha channel I can add as matte in browse. But how would one go about using an external matte that is not in the alpha channel and you want to append it to a plate as a matte?

Anyone left in Vegas might want to put a wager on a sudden spike in Wave panel sales.

Yes – I was thinking of third party options relative to mac OS. So it sounds like presently the WAVE is the only option, though my guess is other third party providers will be making USB versions where they currently are supporting only ethernet.

  • Thanks Dwaine, Peter, and Luke for all the answers. Wonderful job in making Resolve attainable option for everyone.

  • Thanks for the feedback. So that begets the question of can the Linux version of Resolve be purchased without the control panels that can be used by those of us with 2K+ panels. Doing the math it would seem that would make it $19,995.

Can someone from BM/DaVinci confirm this?
