I’ve also had exactly the same problem as James with my recently installed CS5.5 – and have spent 2 days trying to work out what was wrong. Turns out a simple clearing of the cache was all it needed. I’ve had this before, so I don’t know why I didn’t think of it. It’s odd that the cache seems to cause quite a few stray problems. Anyway – thanks for the reminder Jon and for saving me more wasted hours!

Rick – Thanks for that useful info. Some of it worked for me – Programme Name, Reporter, Purpose and Memo – all show up fine. One or two fields (Creator / Shooter / Placename )bizarrely remain blank.
And the shorter version with just a few fields, doesn’t seem to work with at all with my camera. The AF101 reports it as incompatible – so it seems to need the whole lot. Maybe you have a different firmware revision Rick? Was this done on 1.15?
And sadly Art – none of the Panasonic software seems to support 64bit Windows 7. I’ve just tried the AVCcam viewer which (according to Barry Green) enables metadata management – but the installer complains that it won’t work on my OS.

Hooray – thanks Todd (and team). That appears to work perfectly. Excellent news as I’m about to start a major project and this will save an awful lot of re-wrapping.
Now all I have to do is figure out why PP crashes out completeley whenever I normalise a stereo track…
Anyway – thanks again. I appreciate the email letting me know this is finally fixed. Just before IBC too – so I now won’t have to try and bend someone’s ear on the Adobe stand!

Paul – I’m interested to hear that you think this issue is fixed – but not released… That’s not my information. I queried the problem again, and had a reply from Adobe this week saying “we have recognised that it’s a bug, and the issue is still not resolved”. They go on to say “the issue is still under engineering team consideration” – which doesn’t sound like they’re close to sorting it to me. All a bit disappointing really…

I’ve had a similar problem with my PMW350 and CS5. In the end – like you, I reverted to MXF re-wrapping and got all four audio channels again.
I can’t believe Adobe would make such a big thing about seamless XDcam EX workflow if it can only import 2 audio channels that stutter and sound like the chipmunks. Does anyone have any more info about a fix?
