I should have checked this before but it seems the problem is only with an SD Timeline. The SD project will show the video but it won’t play the audio.

    Thanks.

Thanks Walter. That was it. It’s strange because I always keep that at Full Res and I’m not sure why it was set at 1/2. We’ve been having multiple issues and I didn’t even think about checking that.

Just another reminder to always check the simple stuff first.

On another topic I had a quick question for you or anyone else. Since switching to CS5.5 whenever we open a previous project from CS5 I get the popup : “The oreset used by one or more sequences requires 3rd Party components that could not be located….” I have the same card i had before just with the updated firmware and drivers. Is this a known thing that is happening or is something weird going on.

I have to make new timelines everytime I open an older project and copy everything into a new timeline. Not a big hassle but i’ve never run into this before when upgrading using other I/O cards unless I got a totally new device.

    Thanks.

I just recently noticed something in our setup and wondered if this a known issue with CS 5.5. When viewing out the footage goes blurry and it seems worse on our HDMI sets. The SD monitor isn’t as bad but that might be because it’s only a 13″ monitor. Wondered if anyone else saw this ?

I think that issue where component doesn’t work is only if you have Lion installed.

We are running FCP 7 & CS 5.5. We run component out to a BETA deck and then to an SD monitor and we run HDMI to a TV and ti works fine on the system running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 but the compenent doesn’t work on the 2 systems with Lion.

We have 4 systems and of the 2 that run Snow Leopard only the one has the lag issue in Premiere and for me switching to the Adobe Player doesn’t fix it. I am talking about Lag in the timeline not when playing clips so maybe it’s a different thing Walter is talking about.

Well I’ve read that switching to Lion fixes it but if you are using a Kona LHi card then you can’t monitor SD and if you try to change your playback settings Premiere crashes.

We have 3 Macs here all the same except 2 of them are running Lion. None of the other 3 have this problem but both with Lion have the crashing issue when trying to adjust playback settings.

HD seems fine on Lion but you still can’t adjust the sequence playback settings in Premiere.

    Jesse,

Hi. Sorry it took me a few days to get back on here. Thanks for the response.

I am on a MAC with a KONA Lhi card. Basically Channel 1&2 on my board are going into the outs on the Lhi breakout box and the Main Out of the board is going to the in on the Breakout box.

What you said is exactly how I have it in Audition. On channel 1 is the audio I want to loop and I want to record on channel 2.

I hit the loop in the controls and have the record on channel 2 selected. When I hit record on the controls what it does is it plays track 1 and records on track 2. It doesn’t loop channel 1. The playhead just keeps moving as the audio records to channel 2.

I don’t know if there is a specific thing I need to do in Audition as I haven’t done it in a few years. if I absolutely had to I could just export the audio files I wanted to loop and play them on Itunes then reopen Audition to record because I have the MAC system audio in another channel bus on my board.

    Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the feedback. I dont’ even have the METADATA panel open so it’s not that for me.

I posted the same thing in the Premiere forum and it looks like it’s a known issue.

IMO, tough thing to have happen when you are trying to get the FCP base to switch over.

    Thanks again.

    Thanks guys for responding.

I probably noticed it more because before using a MAC I have always edited in Premiere on a PC and never ran into this. My home system is a PC and it runs fine.

I am actually still running CS5. It seems odd that Adobe doesn’t see this problem on any of there systems, yet it doesn’t seem like an isolated issue. And the fact that the Updates for the Lhi card are only 7-8 months old I wonder if AJA has seen this issue as well.

At my job we have 2 MACS, running everything the same except he has the Quadro4000 and the ATI card in his system and he doesn’t have the problem. We are looking at getting 2 more MACS and it worries me that the other guys could have these same issues.

Thanks for the feedback again. As was mentioned hopefully Adobe is working on this and has the ability to see the issue in house.
