    Hi,

I am having an issue using Log and Transfer with MXF Files.

We have HVX Footage shot at 720/24. When I take the files into Log and Transfer I have made sure that in the preferences that the Target Format is Apple Pro Res.

When I Convert the Files and check the info settings it is saying that the compressor on the clips is DVCPRO HD 720P60.

Shouldn’t it say Apple Pro Res 422 ? Is there something else I need to do to make sure it is Pro Res ?

    Thanks.

YOu can’t convert DVCPRO HD to ProRes. DVCPRO HD comes in as DVCPRO HD. There is no option in LOG AND TRANSFER for DVCPRO HD to anything else. P2 AVCINTRA, yes, but the HVX doesn’t shoot AVCINTRA.

DVCPRO HD is what you are stuck with. But it isn’t bad to be stuck with it. It is the native format, and going to ProRes gains you nothing in terms of quality..only file size.

DVCPRO HD is a great i-frame editing codec.
    Edit native is great.

If you’ll have to mix it with other formats , then a ProRes422 timeline is your friend.
