Hi thanks! Well, I was pressed for time but I did find a work around.. Basically I just go to the media manager and re-compress.. It does the aiff files really fast.. Now I am re-compressing the two video tracks, and thats going to take an hour before I can get started. I only have to recompress the video and audio because I have 8 audio tracks and two video. What would really make my day is if I could find a way to use this rocket of a server hp proliant g3 raid5 4 dual core xeon, I can hear it now screaming along doing almost nothing except serving up a few websites. Thanks I guess I was ready to flop around on the floor wasnt I.. 🙂

Oh great.. same problem here.. Aif files from Ableton live crash Final Cut Pro as soon as I press play.. Looks like its back to vegas. Thats too bad, I was having fun with FCP. But its so far being nothing but a drag, really gets me worked up for a program on its level to behave like this. Kind of like an adult flopping on the floor throwing a tantrum. Just doesn’t fit.

Awesome, now if I could just bring on a couple of windows machines for this, that would really make my day.. Only have two MacBookPro’s. And two windows based servers, one of which is an hp proliant with 4 dual core xeon processors rocket ship. Sure would be nice to tap that for FCP. I use it for vegas, and rendering time is significantly reduced. but I think I find FCP slightly easier to use especially for key framing. But thats just me. Vegas was my starter and I know it pretty well, still a little new to FCP.

I do! But I dont believe I get 30fps. I get sharp video, I get sound, and I have to slow down the play back to be sure audio and video are aligned, because at full speed, there seems to be a slight misalignment.. I think a good idea, if you are looking for a super computer, like the other guy that has the server and the 7000 dollar set up, it buy a used server for maybe about 500.00 or less.. I did. I use an hp proliant ml570 g3 with 4 dual core 2.66ghz processors and scsi raid 5. sounded like a jet taking off when I first powered it on, I actually took a step back, wow that was fun. I use windows server 2008 R1, so I need to work on that a little bit. I dont know exactly how the other guy configured the application role of the server.. I did try it, and set it up as an application server, but when I use remote desktop, I dont know which way is better. But there does seem to be some misalignment when at full speed. Its irritating, but for now, I dont know exactly what to do to fix that problem.. I dont think a new video board will do it, but Im not sure.. still checking.
