    Hey Walter!

I’m thinking about a Rift machine on the PC side that I’ll also run Avid / Premiere on. dnx universality has freed me up enough to move in that direction. But I’d like Thunderbolt, since I’ve got a dozen T-Bolt RAIDS. What are you using for Oculus? How are those HP Tbolt cards?

Yeah. It’s not for me. Unless I end up working somewhere where its de jure, then–oh, well–its for me. But no, its not for me.

The Montage also had a particularly unique interface. It was a film metaphor instead of the video source/record metaphor. One monitor. There was no difference between timelines and bins; bins were timelines and timelines were bins. And, they rotated. There were seven, as I recall, and you pasted from bin/timeline to bin/timeline. Sounds crazy now, but back ten it was a Godsend.

Yes, the LG does support virtual monitors, though I never use it that way.

[Craig Seeman] “There’d have to be significant improvements in real time compression “

I don’t know. The guys at Pied Piper are on that pretty seriously. I hear the have a potential deal with Hooli that’s gonna skull French-kiss all the rest of the algorithms out there.

My favorite certification “scam” is Avid’s. You can’t even take the certification test without buying a class. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been working on Media Composer for a decade. Its just silly.

[Michael W. Towe] “Incorrect spelling of Premier Pro is simply a bug in Mikebrain Ver. 19.66. I have reported this bug to to both of the manufacturers at Mombrain LLC and Dadbrain, Inc. However they keep assuring me that the hardware is bug free and I should contact the elementary programers at Schoolbrain, Inc.

I live for moments like that.
