That might be the case for your truck, but on the large unscripted stuff I’ve worked on, there are definitely more than four audio/video ISOs available–usually one for each lav, a couple of booms, and a static room mic. Of course that’s in a studio, so its easier to manage.

“Hey, I used to think Windows was great, and I have no problem going back that way. Its the ProRes thing, right now. My large clients have it as their delivery spec, though some of them are actively investigating others. So, IMX, DNx–OS X has it covered, but it also has ProRes covered, which Windows does not. And FCS3 still has a lot of life in it here in LA. If a Mac Pro does emerge, I will probably stay OS X–at least for a few more years.

I agree with you. I’ve gotten a lot of use with FCP 7.s media manager. It is a ver easy way for me to back up projects.

I’ve been doing that for years, as well. I don’t get the hullabaloo, either.

US and Canadian stores still have them though, I’m still hoping for an announcement either way soon!
“I finally gave up waiting and went with a new 17″ and TBolt drives. I am enjoying the throughput, but who knows? Might be my last Mac. I’ll take another look in the fall, but right now my old 8 Core is good enough, and my 17″ is almost as good. Hopefully, by Fall, I’ll have some sense of to what degree the Mac platform remains.

I think you’re exactly right about Steve Jobs. I would argue he was the leader of the group. 😉

Still can’t risk it and increasingly getting beyond the point where I actually care what happens to it because not nearly enough has happened to make it any more plausible as an option.

Fair enough.
[T. Payton] “I admit my ignorance also. Here in the Western United States “Luddite” is not part of the vocabulary, and I had not heard the term until I read of it recently.
“In this part of the Western United States–at least at the Universities I’ve attended and in a number of the technical places I have worked–its a fairly common slur for the technically dismissive or disinclined. It gets a lot more usage than, say, flat-earther or troglodyte. I’m surprised that you haven’t come across it before.
