Yeah. I agree with his assessment. If I could have a more mappable version of roles and a slightly more user definable UI, I’d start playing with it again.

I do a LOT of hiking and other various cross-training, and I’ve incorporated a bunch of gizmos into it. So, for me the watch is–if it integrates as well as it seems it might with things like my heart strap and fitbit (which it probably will replace)–kind of a cool reward/luxury. I’m not sure, though, why people who aren’t similarly inclined would be particularly interested in getting one. As I say, for me its a definite reward, which improves things a bit, and not a necessity.

The watch is interesting to me. I’ll probably be getting the sports one. I like the idea of second screen functionality for exercise and the like.

I think there is no doubt the cost will go up at some point. Get them hooked and raise the price….or else! 😉

“LOL! Now, now. It’s not like they’re not saying it loudly and in BOLD ALL CAPS at every available moment. And, I happen to agree with Steve at this point. Of course, he and I both regularly use other systems as well, so some of the same fears aren’t there. But this thing’s done. Adobe’s not changing direction. Its what they want to do with their tools. Boycotts aren’t going to change it. As Steve says, I genuinely can’t understand why people are denying themselves a suite of very useful tools, just because it’s subscription only.

Do you do the E-Bay thang when you want to change phone services too? Or a gym membership? My current subscription is way cheeper than what I pay for both of those. If I go to full price it will STILL be cheeper than those. Considerably so.
Look, I get that you don’t like the model. Its not my favorite, either. But Adobe’s not going to change their mind, and this is getting a little broken-recordy.

Now, I see. Yes, I “pancake” all the time. Hadn’t heard the term before. It’s one of the best things about FCP Legacy, and one of the main reasons I’m a big fan of Pr.
The primary difference between the source timeline and another open timeline is that the source timeline is tied directly into the insert functions of the NLE, which can make it a bit more immediate than drag and drop or cut and paste from another timeline.
