    I had the same issue (or at least an issue with the same symptoms) in Premiere Pro CC. For me I fixed it by selecting a different audio hardware default output (see screenshot).

    Edit (top menu) > Preferences > Audio Hardware

    I had to select speakers rather than the default to get it to work.
