I have a QuickTime movie, ProRes422 with a 5.1 mix. Can I play that off of the Mac Mini with digital audio out to a 5.1 consumer amp and get surroundsound?

I used camera tracker from red giant to get a good track. Hoping to attach a 3d halo (torus) to the track and have the halo move and rotate and scale with the tracking data for a realistic looking halo. I watched a YouTube video earlier where they used shatter to create a 3d object but I don’t think that would work in this case, without some very advanced expressions.

    Hi Mark

That’s what I did. I bought 2 Dell i7’s. Unfortunately you do need a pc and mac licence to do cross platform which was a bit of drag but buying PC’s as you know is quite a bit cheaper than a couple of Mac pro’s I own a mac licence and a pc licence. With either, you can install the network renderer on as many machines as you want I think. Up to 10 for sure. So, in the end, it was cheaper to buy 2 licence’s for AE, one windows and one mac. With that setup I can actually work on PC to compose as well as the Mac.

    Cheers

    Hi Mark

It’s my first time getting it working. I must say with one mac and 2 i7 pc’s it’s speeded up my render time substantially. I do quite a bit of HD and 2k motion graphics and my bottleneck was always rendering. My plan is to just keep adding computers to the network as I go. Cheers.

    Hi Mark

I figured out my problem. I was choosing multi machine sequence under output but wasn’t selected multi machine under render settings. It now works perfectly. Thanks for your post.
