Simple way to manipulate a 3d object in AE

Hello Chris

Don’t know what exactly you have to achieve but according to explanation :

I have been tasked with creating a halo on some characters in a film sequence.

You have to Motion Track the Characters.

I have a 3d track already done of the characters

What do you mean by 3D Track? Are you talking of the new 3D Camera Tracker feature of AE?

I used camera tracker from red giant to get a good track. Hoping to attach a 3d halo (torus) to the track and have the halo move and rotate and scale with the tracking data for a realistic looking halo. I watched a YouTube video earlier where they used shatter to create a 3d object but I don’t think that would work in this case, without some very advanced expressions.

If you want a real 3D object, I suggest you get Element 3D. Ive done a lot of shots that I camera tracked then placed the object using Element.
