Hi Vishesh –
… nothing to do with this post but in response to your reply regarding my animation query…
…….. if you are in the UK you might be interested in what I’m up to at the moment — currently re-building my motion graphics / fx profile after taking a break for a bit and looking for new contacts – lots of industry experience – if interested please mail me direct at chris@studio3birmingham.com.

Hi Dave and Walter
Thank-you both very much for your replies.
I’ll check them both out in detail tomorrow — should be enough there for me to get it I think….
….. for me the loss of the FFI motion curve control is the hardest thing, so far, to compensate for when moving over to AE but hopefully when I get my head round it things will seem just as good…
Best regards

Hi –
– could just be one of those weird glitches that happens –
– I’m pretty new to this but I get weird things once in a while as well and I just poke it around a bit until it behaves ( when I can )
—- this might sound a bit un-technical but sometimes its not worth trying to work out the underlying reason ( and sometimes I reckon nobody knows ……. )
I’ve worked on Flint for years and its the same on that – sometimes weird things just happen….
It will be interesting to see if anybody has a more technical explanation – theres certainly a lot of detail to learn when using this app.

Hi –
– having problems with setting animation curves so have trawled the archives and read posts in this thread but I’m still having problems.
The temporal display ( when you click on the graph button ) does not make sense to me and being a bit of a newbie I cant see how to get the spatial display up either.
….spent a couple of hours just trying to get a simple motion path sorted and still cant see any meaningful relationship between the graph display and the finished result…..
Like the original poster I have good experience of the Flame/ Flint interface which allows very fine finesses in seconds and also where the graph display matched what you would expect in the comp.
I reckon the problem is that I just have not worked it out yet so if someone can give me a few more clues or point to a training video or something I would be very grateful.

Hi Lewis —
— fairly new to this app myself ( so this might not work ) but have you tried opening an adjustment layer and applying mask and keylight to that …
if that does not do the trick I think I would try pre-comping the job so far / making a copy / and applying keylight and mask to top copy ..
— will be interesting to see what the others make of it
