—- I would say its worth checking …
1 ) the animation curves
2 ) that the key-frames accurately line up
3 ) that there is not an extra keyframe tucked away close to another that has been added in error —- if I suspect this I zoom into thath part of the timeline to check and it amazing how ofter I finf something that not intended !

—— I dont know the technical reason for this but in this instance I would try the following : —
1 ) Render out to an uncompressed targa sequence
2 ) Clear AE and import sequence to see if it has rendered to targas ok – this will clarify whether of not it is something to do with the Quicktime output.
3 ) If targas are ok convert the file to a quicktime and find the solution later ( clearly if there is audio render audio as WAV and add to the quicktime conversion )
—– a bit obvious I know but just in case you have not tried it…

———– I dont really know the answer as such but my guess is that it is something to do with the comp / no-comp issue.
—- my instinct is that if the plant anim was wrapped up in a single comp and the camera applied to that it should work ( ie the camera is outside the comp of the plant ) and if not I would try a few different versions of this before I gave up on it.
I say this because I had a few puzzling things in a recent comp where a camera was applied to a ‘fake 3d ‘animation and this fixed it ( I also used the method of pick-whipping the camera to a null object ).
If this did not work I would probably be looking at whether or not the camera was really needed ie can this be done by scaling/positioning in 3D space or even 2D space ? – although thats a bodge not an answer…..
—– also if you try the rearranging the comp configuration dont forget the little star type icon that tells comps how to behave inside other comps …. I’m not totally up on this but it does something like ‘ allow transfer of properties to work inside inside another comp’ — its the one that also allows vector artwork to scale and stay sharp …

Hi there – the way I have done this is thus …
……assuming your walk cycle is 12 frames or thereabouts artwork a matching set of black and white matte cells from your single frame images that make up the cycle.
Then sync up the black and white cycle and use as a track-matte ….. should be an easy one – you just need a bit of time to artwork the matte-run.

You can check your rendered sequence first by loading it into AE as a ‘muliple file’ / ‘footage’ sequence to make sure it is ok.
Audio can be rendered out as a wav and added to the quicktime no problem —

—- the short answer is probably make a patch in photoshop and motion track it on to the footage —
— sometimes there are quite a lot of details to observe to get this really neat such as matching the grain — and sometimes this is much easier than it looks …
—- so much depends on the shot –
—– a couple of stills and a shot description ( at least ) are essential I think to give a confident reply.

— PS …….. and if it affects other areas just apply effect to an adjustment layers and mask to select door area only ( adding slight soft edge if required ) …
