    Hi,

I’m trying to create a stop motion of a person walking across a still image. The still image is an A0 section drawing of a house I’ve scanned and I want this drawing to be the background of the stop motion video. The stop motion itself is a small character walking across the drawing and finally I want to be able to zoom in and out of the drawing. I want the video to flow seamlessly as I zoom in and out and only the small image of the character should be in stop motion format.

Does anyone know how to impose stop motion on top of another image?

Hi there – the way I have done this is thus …

……assuming your walk cycle is 12 frames or thereabouts artwork a matching set of black and white matte cells from your single frame images that make up the cycle.

Then sync up the black and white cycle and use as a track-matte ….. should be an easy one – you just need a bit of time to artwork the matte-run.

    Thanks for the quick reply!

I’m new to After effects but I think I can figure this out, I’ll post the video when done.

    Thanks.
