  • Hi David

This tutorial is an excellent wizz through the basic operations that I have not seen elsewhere and I wish I had seen when I started a year ago –

    – there were still quite a few details that were new to me —

    – well done — think more of the same would be much appreciated .

Many thanks and all the best ——–chris —

    …..cheers Walter —- great stuff ———chris —

  • ————– if its a 2D animation and you want to get on ( rather than solve the technical issue ) suggest an edit …. ie take a still of the loft insulation before the camera moves / track it / and patch it on – this will work for some designs but not others…….

    Oli –

    – if I understand correctly I think you can do this be having two composition windows open at the same time – one for the master and one for the comp —–chris —

  • —- if you havent seen the stuff an ‘AE scripts’ re this plugin its worth a look — think you can try it for free —–chris–

  • Hi –

    – my guess is that the the graph editor isnt good enough /easy enough to use, to do what you want without a LOT of grief.

IMO this function lets this amazing app down a lot – those that have used a good system will know what I mean……

However there are a load of great plugins for AE and I’m wondering if you have seen ‘ease and wizz’ which I think might help — not entirely sure but am just about to try it myself today for a similar issue.

    Hi Jasmine –

    – sorry easiest way is to animate ‘mask opacity’ in the drop down menu that displays the mask settings — ( brain temporarily off-line ) …

—— this should sort it ——-chris —

    —- ok – easy one ….. either ……..

1 ) Apply the mask to an adjustment layer and alter transparency of the adjustment layer ( should work not tested it )

2 ) Apply the mask to a layer of solid white and use it as a track matte – animate tranparency of track matte over one second – this will definately work.

    ——————— and thats it —

    Hi —

—it would be easier to watch a training video than have me explain – those guys do it a lot better than me …………..

    — suggest Andrew Kramer at Videocopilot.net / tutorials / basic tutorials or trawl Andrew Devis’s tutorials on this site .

These 2 guys have different styles and if used together are a brilliant training system I think – highly recommended – worked for me.
