so Avid audio export is definitely stereo but creating a mono
track?What version of quicktime are you running? That might be part
of the problem. -
Either Avid output or possibly squeeze is doing.
check your export settings on both.

The maximum technical limit of DVD is 16x unless I’ve missed something.
So 16x is as fast as you could do it.All of the multi-function recorders I’ve seen (with the hard drive and ethernet)
still require that what you put on the disc be an mpeg2 compliant video file.It won’t take a quicktime and encode it for you.
but you could playback your FCP timeline to the unit and record
it in realtime that way. Thats a big time saver.If your TV Station is going to rely on a recorder for operations then the
only unit you should be considering is the Pioneer PRV-LX1. -
The more professional authoring apps out there require separate streams.
I don’t know the reason why.The flickering will happen regardless of your bitrate which determines
your disc data size. Usually the flickering is caused when part of
the image is less than 2 pixels tall. This makes it flicker because
of the interlacing scan lines alternating between on line and the other.The flickering and moire patterns can be reduced by either having a
slightly larger picture to show or applying a very slight gaussian
blur. -
My Digibeta deck only has 4-channels. I’m not positive there is a DB deck
that is 6-channel, but I wouldn’t count on it.If I were you I’d confirm that it uses all 4-channels
and ask him if 1 & 2 represent front left & right with
3 & 4 being rear left & right.It could get VERY complicated to do if they supply 6 .wav files
for you to encode separately from the video. You chould potentially
have a synching nightmare doing it that way. -
to my knowledge you can only playback the folders
as far as the DVD spec is concerned.you could make an .mpg file with the audio and video
that they could just run over a network though.look into the vlc player. its free, multiplatform and works great.

That usually occurs when the mpeg files themselves
don’t meet certain specs for DVD authoring. -
Would it help if the 2nd batch of dubs were time code window
dubs with the code burned in?Probably not if your doing an EDL conform.

There are a few but not many that support DVD-RAM reading.
All Panasonic branded drives do (they are huge supporters of RAM)
The pioneer 109/a09 does.
If you do a check on the detailed specs on a website for any drive it will
tell you if it supports DVD-RAM or not.
