    well ok not bad review…

I wonder though if its as endorsed by Panasonic though. 3rd party suppliers like these guys and firestore have to go through Panny to get the specs and so on in order to make these things. Right? So theoretically if Panny gives them the specs then they should all be as compatibal and endorsed…Right? Its not like anyone can make these P2 compliant devices and not have them be equall or greater than the reliability of an actuall Panasonic product?

March I think is the ship date on their site. But when is Firestore actually moving their product? And seein how I didn’t preorder my HVX what are the odds that’ll get it anytime soon…

can you give me a link to the rest of the info on this product?

  • I’m generally in full aggreement with your opinion that I need a few frenels for background sculpting.

What are some of the good places to go to look for used lighting equipment?

And if you are actually serious about selling your Light Panels, please email me.

On a more technical note though. I know this might seem a funny question since I’ve already purchased them, but what’s the comparison of light output to these Diva 400’s to an Arri 1k with small chimera? Is the diva more light or less? Yesterday we had two open faced 1 k arri through a 4×4 frame of 250 diffusion. Is that equivilent to one Diva or both?

How do I compare the output and punch of these lights to Arris and HMIs?

    Thanks

I’d like to echo these suggestions. I’m 100% supportive of a DVD though. I think we want the entire industry to understand these workflows. Yes if you understand it and a competitor doesn’t then its a marketable trait, but my customers pay me not my competitors. So I’d like to have a dvd that goes into great detail and possibly something online that can eduacte and sell my clients.

Jan, if you go with filming the mini camp, I’d volunteer to film it for the trade off of attending the camp for free.

    🙂

Sorry you don’t rent your gear but how much do you charge your clients for your kits? Do you know how much specifically you charge for this biax8? And just so I can look into it do you know what the kino product is that you mentioned?

    Thanks so much!

Right off the bat, the Biax 8 seems like a large and heavy presence. Just going off the B&H photos. I haven’t seen them in real life.

So the same is true with these biax, the dimmer doesn’t affect the color temp? When you do compose with a window are you using ND as well? Are you satisfied with the cutters on the biax? They seem so rudamentary compared to the kino’s…

But it really does sound interesting that I could achieve my small news shoots and also offer a rentable light to my larger shoots, possibly a competitor to the 1200 HMI if budget is an issue.

What do you rent yours for?

    Any other visions out there?

    Thanks

    Hi Rainer,

Sorry to ask such a simple question but I’d like to read your workflow discussion as well but I’m not familiar with where you directed us to go to in order to read this. Could you be more specific? Thanks.

    June 13, 2005 at 5:19 pm in reply to: 8gigs for $1800 vs. 30 for $1…hmm

Sure these won’t be around for awhile, but what do the charts have the P2’s getting up to by the summer of 06? 32 gig? still at $1800? even if they are $500 then, I just would like some type of compent from Jan or someone at Panasonic about why they are trying to develop a media that will never be able to compete with the price point that the HVC groups have already established?

I missed this sbp2-transfer advertisement. You someone direct me to it? I’m sort of lost without knowing what exactly you are referring to. Sorry.

Yes I would be most interested to see the results of this type of test for both 720 and 1080.
