I have one for sale, Andy. It’s a nice lens. A bit heavy. I need more of a fisheye.

Red stage lighting can play havoc with any camera. A fairer test would be to shoot some SD footage under more ideal lighting conditions.

“Shockless White” has nothing to do with exposure. It relates to White Balance only. All it does is slow down the rate of change when switching between manual and ATW.

Yes, still a reference file. It might take a bit longer for a self-contained. I usually export as a self-contained and then use that for archiving.

It still needs to conform the video. Just one of the drawbacks of XDCAM & HDV codecs. Chances are that it won’t take nearly that long, even though it says so.

It’s been awhile since I’ve had to deal with this, and this may have changed recently, but it used to be that Quicktime did not recognize the 16:9 anamorphic flag that would automatically un-squeeze the image. So what you would need to do was to open the movie in Quicktime, select the A/V Controls window, select the video track, and then change the Display Size to 853 x 480.

    Noob Answer.

Are you sure ATW is not turned on? There is an indication in the viewfinder.

    Mike,

This is a stab in the dark, so forgive me if I’m wasting your time, but you might want to check out a program called FileSalvage. I’ve used it’s little brother, iPod Salvage to recover audio files from a CF card where the directory on the disk became corrupted. The fact that your Disk Utility still recognizes the card leads be to believe that this might be worth a shot. It’s only $90 and there is a downloadable trial available. Here is the link:

Just grabbing at straws here, but see if you can find someone with a MacBook Pro that has an Express Card slot, and see if that makes a difference.

The seller was naive-buyer. I just did a search for all his auctions and it doesn’t look like he is still selling this item. This was the only seller I could find in the U.S. All the other sellers are in China or Hong Kong. I think there is one in Australia. Good Luck.
