Do both images look exactly the same at basemem, no corrections, no nodes.. ?

whats the source footage format ?

try this, save the grade as a still in the powergrades tab of the gallery,
then open the other project and apply that grade, see what happens..

find the option in settings tab V8 or conform option section in V9, page 81 of the manual

    “Split source clips for pre-conform”

This is a better method for approaching a pre-conform..

September 11, 2012 at 1:45 am in reply to: Resolve 9 not importing Jpges

As Sascha says, it wont suport stills !

    work around,

convert your stills to mov in the same timeline codec, re-import that mov back into your FCP timeline replacing the stills and then create a new XML

    or

convert jpegs to tiff, make sure you have a sequencial number of frames, ie
    mytiff_001.tif
    mytiff_002.tif
    mytiff_003.tif

bring them back into your timeline in FCP replacing your jpegs and then create a new XML..
problem with this is no timecode with tiff so make sure you have separate sequences for each and are unique in naming.

    That should do it …

September 11, 2012 at 1:37 am in reply to: DaVinci 9 not seeing R3D footage

This sounds like a permissions problem with the folder,

    in a terminal, type

    sudo su –
    your password

    and then type

    chmod -R 777 /Volumes/clientDisk/thefilesareinhere

    or

chmod -R 777 and then drag the folder to the terminal window…
    press enter…

Hope that helps, won’t do any harm in trying..

July 30, 2012 at 7:32 am in reply to: Grading Panoramic footages

    Try this,

Conform all three time lines as separate, 1 left, 1 center and 1 right time line, keeping media in preset bins under root in media page,

then tell resolve left camera is left eye 3D and center is right eye 3D, then you can grade them together on the screen, making center you master
you can even use color match between eyes,

once that’s done, make right camera your time line left eye and leave center as right eye,

then batch copy right eye grades to left eye and continue grading matching your Right camera (left eye) to Center master …

once your done, export all there timelines as single clips and stitch them together in AE..

    That’s what I’d do …

    sounds like fun

    Strange out of line question,

Can anyone comment on how lustre / scratch / baselight or any other system handle the two?

    Somehow they must,

May 15, 2012 at 4:56 pm in reply to: BMD support for Resolve

Question is ? Would you be happy to pay $1999 for the software knowing you get a level of direct support?

How much would you pay for what level of support ?

I find it pretty stable with no issues for support, I’m happy with $999

I’d pay $1999 if I could map my tangent elements myself ……
