hey, adam, thanks for the reply,

    that’s basically what i had, i think…

but the issue is in the null properly tracing the path as the sweep nurb scales and rotates. if i zero out (return to defaults) the scale and rotation on the sweep nurbs, it’s good, but it doesn’t know what to do as the sweep nurb rotates (banks) and scales.

does that problem make sense, not sure i’m describing it correctly…

    the scene is here…

nah, honestly, what i need is somewhat controllable splines and an organic build. i’m toying with 2 systems, the splines are sweep nurbs built around splines from a tracer object and the “build” system would be a mograph cloner like the one in the scene i posted with effectors adjusting scale and position for the look of the bands forming from this air in front if the sweep nurbs.

not sure what that will look like, but the dynamics thing seemed to cause a lot of issues… so this might be better…

the sweep nurbs are simple enough to build, just tweaking the profile shape for the look i want.

if you have any suggestions for the A (build) system or the B (spline) system, i’d appreciate it!

    thanks, adam!

ps is there a way to find talented c4d people who i could pay to build the initial scene and hand it back for me to complete? not sure if that’s something thru the creative cow network, or other … thanks!

    hey, adam,

    here’s the file:
    https://files.me.com/charlesbartlett/o4ro49

this one is using mograph clones that intersect (which i’m trying to avoid). this was not a dynamic scene, just a test for the look and the effectors for the building of the head of the strokes.

but i am happy to create the bands with mosplines/hair/sweep nurbs, whatever works to get the effect. each band may be a slightly different profile, the key is they are close but don’t intersect.

    thanks again!

    thanks
