I may have found a solution. I changed the Field Dominance in the Sequence settings so it matches the DVCPRO 50 footage – field dominance for that footage is read as “lower field” first in FCP. And by doing that it does greatly reduce the jaggies / pixelation. It doesn’t eliminate them completely but it does help a lot.

Definitely – I’ve been rendering the whole sequence by clicking “Render All” and I have all the options on the right of that menu clicked on (Needs Render, Rendered Proxy, Proxy Preview, Full, Unlimited) so it should be getting everything. But I still have the jaggies/pixelation.
One other thing I just thought of is that the DVCPRO 50 footage is anamorphic. And the Sony EX3 footage isn’t. I wonder if that could cause the issue?

I’m wondering if anyone knows if it’s possible to order SDHC cards in bulk somewhere for a good price?
I’m thinking about ordering about 100 of the Transcend 16GB Secure Digital High-Capacity (SDHC) cards for use with the Sony EX3.

Using my Sandisk 12 in 1 SDHC card reader into my MacPro I get 2x with CRC on in Clipbrowser and 4x with CRC off (although I never turn it off).
I’m not quite sure what you mean you by “2x” & “4x”?
Would that mean 2x real time – meaning that if you shot 30 minutes of footage it would take 60 minutes to copy the files using the Clipbrowser?

I’m also trying to figure out roughly how much time it will take (or possibly the transfer rate) to copy the files from an SDCH card to an external firewire hard drive that’s connected via an 800 firewire cable to a Mac Book Pro laptop.
Basically I was planning to keep the SDCH card inside the MxM card reader and insert that into the ExpressCard/34 slot on the MBP to copy the files but I wasn’t sure how it would take to copy the files. And we decided to use the 16GB SDCH cards instead of the 32GB.
