    Andy,
Read the Pro Apps Hub and you’ll get the summary. Basically Apple has a knowledge base article up saying that Cleaner 6 has some problems with h.264 in QT 7. Not surprising as Discreet seems to have idled Cleaner development to a halt.

I had not heard about a Sorenson problem. This is the first I have seen of it surfacing. Right now you are on of the brave souls that attempted QT 7 very early.

    Greg,
Glad I could help. I have been on Media 100’s for over 10 years now and I enjoy trying to assist people to solve problems. While I am not as technically knowledgable as Floh (who is pretty amazing at answering some of these questions) I try my best.

I’ll let the UCONN thing slide (HAHA) as I work in the state university system. I hope your time in our little state treated you well.

    Best

You may want to try running activity monitor to see what is happening when the machine locks up. Maybe there is a memory drain through M100. Reinstalling the app is always an option, though a tiresome one.

MPEG Streamclip should be able to convert the MPEG1 file for you to QT for use in M100. Its a free app https://www.alfanet.it/squared5/mpegstreamclip.html

Check for the latest drivers from keyspan’s website. Report back to the list if this works.

May 10, 2005 at 4:00 pm in reply to: Where are other moderators?

I received a cold call from M100 this morning because someone picked up info for me at NAB from them. They seem to have no record of me attending their HD demo last fall as this is the 2nd cold call in a few months about HD that started with, “have you been to our demo yet”. I inquired about the SW product, no promises. She said, “hoping for the fall”, then proceeded to price out an HD upgrade for me. I have been a stalwart with this product for 10 years now and support it highly, but I too may have to look as the walls have been crumbling down around me as our Communication Department has gone completely FCP and AVID shuttering 4 Media 100 systems.

Best of luck with your decision….I feel your pain 🙁

  • Cool…I haven’t had enought time to play in the SW version yet. Not something I have seen highlighted in M100’s marketing materials much.

    Thanks Floh

  • It’s clunky, but yes export self-contained and then re-import into the new project.

Go into the media folder for project 1 and drag the files to the trash (don’t empty). Open project 1 and you should get all of the bin icons with missing media. Open project 2 and you should still see the files because they were imported under the new project. You can then trash all of project 1’s media and the exported files. As your media drives will now have this important media on it make sure to do a back up soon so you don’t lose them.

Again, clunky, but it will get you going in the right direction for media management. Whenever you start opening bins and programs within other projects it gets confusing and ultimately mistakes are made. This way you’ll simply export, import and done.

    good luck
