Dave LaRonde Oh, and there’s just one more thing:
If you want to play like you are the oh-so-artsy-fartsy Directeur du Film, you should at least learn what you are doing BEFORE you do it. Frankly, if you were working for me, I wouldn’t let you anywhere near a RED camera until you had learned the basics of frame rates and pulldown, a technique that has been in use since they started showing movies on television in the United States of America. Think the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Years.
Cripes, Mr. “What’s Pulldown?” is shooting on a RED camera, while my photographer limps along on a twelve-year-old Beta SP camera. Heck, he’d kill to have something that was built during this stinkin’ decade!
It just ain’t fair.
I have to say Dave this is an utterly mean spirited and patronising comment, I thought the idea of this forum was to be supportive and nurturing to people who are learning new skills. It’s very easy for someone with a lot of experience to shoot down someone who has come here looking for help.
And as you seem to think it’s fine to criticise someone’s professionalism who you have never met or worked with, I’m sure you’re fine with me telling you that if you were better at you job you would generate more income for your company and you could afford a better camera for your crew.
