January 15, 2014 at 9:23 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas Pro 12.770 freezes when I import a previously rendered .mp4 fileYes I have other .MP4 videos with a media info of 25fps. It seems that I get 25fps when I deinterlace the video but if I keep it interlaced (which I prefer, since the source file is interlaced) then for some reason the encoded file says 50fps even though I selected 25fps in the rendering menu. I do think it’s a bug. The previous version of Vegas (12.726) fixed a bug related to MainConcept (Release Note : “Fixed a bug that caused incorrect frames to be rendered when using the MainConcept AVC/AAC format with the Encode mode set to Render using CPU only.”). I wouldn’t be surprised if there were other bugs with this codec that carried over to 770. I will try and contact Sony about this as soon as I can.

January 15, 2014 at 8:56 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas Pro 12.770 freezes when I import a previously rendered .mp4 fileYes, I’m dragging it into a new project. Vegas is not asking to set the settings for me but the box “Adjust source media to better match project or render settings” is checked, and no it doesn’t reflect the 50fps that mediainfo is saying it is. It says it’s 25fps as you can it see here :

January 15, 2014 at 8:04 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas Pro 12.770 freezes when I import a previously rendered .mp4 fileNorman, thanks for your reply. It’s the exact problem I’m getting. The video has been encoded using the settings mentionned in my initial message on Vegas 12.770, anyone can reproduce the problem. I think it’s a bug of Vegas.
I haven’t contacted Sony yet.

January 15, 2014 at 6:48 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas Pro 12.770 freezes when I import a previously rendered .mp4 fileAfter importing the video, have you tried dropping it to the video/audio tracks ? Importing the video is not a problem, it’s when you try to edit it (split sections, etc.) or even rendering it that it freezes. Thanks again for your help, it’s really appreciated 🙂

I have added a link to the video on my original post. If you or anyone else could download it and tell me if it freezes their copy of Vegas too, it would be useful :https://www.lehit.com/temp/svp12.770.freeze.zip

I have run 2 instances of Vegas and I can confirm that it worked flawlessly 🙂 I’m even surprised that it didn’t slow down my computer too much (I have an i7 3770 3.4Ghz). This is really a great piece of software 🙂
