  • Hey Larry! Thanks for the info about the upgrades. Your software did work exactly like you said!

Not is all lost with this. Basically I will work the last week parallel to a company my partner will try to build it with in NYC. We will both try to get it done in our last week.

My deadline today was to ship out the hard drive with all the assets for an emergency authoring on a different system.

I’ll let you know how it turns out. Thanks again.

  • Hey, Thanks for the response. It was more of a vent than anything. I have just been so frustrated with my Encore Blu-Ray experience.

I actually bought BluStreak Premaster last night, but unfortunately, now I have too many errors in Encore to build a disk to meet my deadline.

I have reached the cut off time of having to now dump all my assets onto a drive and have someone do it on a more professional system then Encore.

Its just not cutting it. To many errors, too many crashes, too much of a waste of time. $2000 worth of software later……

But you are right about BluStreak. I tried it on a test copy I had and it seemed to wrap the files exactly to the specs of the Replecation House. I would recommend it too.

The other software we bought was Annotations Editor, to fix the gaps to greater than 3 frames error. That works well too. Its too bad that Encore is not a complete product and crashes so much.

    Thanks..

  • Thank you so much for the help Pankaj. Is it possible you can email me at schackmanfilms@gmail.com?
I would rather not post the subtitle text publicly and this way I could just email it to you.

Attached is also a screen shot of the import .txt screen.

I looked and none of the letters like y’s and g’s drop below this line. Maybe they touch it and that is enough at a certain spot to turn off the subtitles.

Not sure. Its strange that the settings are the same for the DVD and the DVD works fine, the Blu-Ray not.

    Thanks again.

Did you look at it when it is compiled into a disk? I notice all my menus are like this in Encore, but the end result is fine on a disk.

Have you tired a .psd version? Thats all I use..

  • The subtitles, at least up to the point of where they stop playing, are not spanning a chapter point.
I changed the font to Myriad Pro and it went about 2 lines further then stopped just the same.

Attached is a screen grab of the project where the problem happens.

I have at least 3 second spaces between subtitles.

Hope this helps get the to bottom of this.

    Thanks

  • So, i just checked this and with the subtitles on, the Mbps never gets above 32.4 when I monitor on the PS3 on a Blu-Ray-RW disk.

It has been tested on a standalone Sony Blu-Ray Player as well with the same results.

    It averages around 25-28 Mbps.

Not sure what it could be. I bought Annotations Editor and will try to export an image script file, but I have to figure out how to do that on a Mac.

With a deadline at the end of the week, I am starting to get nervous about this.

    Thanks.

  • Apparently, it is not the chapter change that stops the subtitles. It stops about 5 subtitles into the second chapter and never comes back.

Also, if I select a chapter, other than the 1st chapter, and press the subtitle button on the remote, the subtitles do not come on, even thought I see the little pop-up that says it is indeed on subtitle 1.

Any one have a fix for this? My deadline is Friday next week.

    Thanks.

  • Hey Pankaj, thanks for the response.

When I play the first chapter, the subtitles all show up, but once it plays, or is forwarded with the remote to the second, or any other subsequent chapters, the subtitles do not show.

It is not possible to select them with the button on the remote either after the first chapter.

But in Encore, they all show up for the whole 90 minute film.

    This is a Blu-Ray project.

    Thanks for the thoughts.

Thanks Jeremy. Did you ever try it on another non PS3 Blu-Ray player?
