    yes, from the hdv tapes.
what system you mean in post production? The tape to tape will be done in HD, 2K, then transfer to film.

    🙂

    ok, will do.
    thanks for the explanation.

i just saw a post by my assistant down here!
(by Fernanda Pires de Sá on Apr 21, 2008 at 7:23:16 pm how to know if the format of the video has filmed in 1080i or 1080p? )
she didn’t explain quite well our problem, but gave a try.
and you were kind enough to reply.

    thank you very much.

    thank you very much jeremy.
    that was great help.

this v1 has two modes (i just downloaded the camera’s manual) 24 and 24A.
i’m guessing here that 24A is the real 24, and 24 is the “film look”, recording in 29.97
    that might be what’s happening…
i will test edls tommorow. i will let you know!
    thanks for the patience.

    i have to deliver 24…
and the director says he recorded in 24.
but in fcp, when i look at item properties it says 29.97.

this will be a novel… problems have only just started.

all setups i tried play back perfect.
i’ll check the interlacing tomorrow when i look at the material again (great idea by the way)

i have tried them and they all work!!!
i put the clips on the timeline and there’s no need to render or anything…
i worry about after the projext is finished, when i export the edl and go for tape to tape. if the project is 30fps and the real thing is 24 we will have problems…
about the ntsc, i only know for sure because i am in brazil, and here the system is ntsc, and the camera playbacks perfect on our tvs.
the Z1, and older version of this camera also has 60i or 50i formats.

hello jeremy, thanks for the reply,

the V1E is both pal and ntsc.

    they shoot in HDV.

in fcp they are a few setups for that…
    HDV 1080i60, 1080p30 and 720p30…that’s for 29.97
    for 23.98 there are:
    1080p24, 720p24.

    i know it’s ntsc for sure…
