In my experience AJA is in a league of their own with regard to support; testing pre driver releases; product reliability, integrity and longevity; and did I say support?! If only they could purchase FCP 7.0 and turn it into the beast that it could have been.
Sorry to hijack the post but I felt compelled.
BTW If AJA Sales is still subscribing to this thread – I’m in..

Thanks for your reply.
Yes I thought this would be the closest thing to what I originally thought possible.
Definitely no other automated way than you can think of?

Do you really think I should, I wouldn’t want their heads to explode 😉
Thanks again Dave.Mitch

Hi Chris and Dave
Yes doomed from the start is exactly what I thought.
FYI I’ve only come on this project in the last few days so these bad decisions were made well in advance before I arrived. I would have thought this was a no brainer to work in all areas of production at the same frame rate that the project would be delivered, but alas they have not.
Well I’ll put the decision on what to do next to the powers that be. Ideally all compositing projects reformatted to 24psf, re-rendered and re-delivered to me, as with the consensus here.
Thanks for the confirmation, it obviously helps my case to argue the above.
Best regards.

Sounds good to me Bob, thanks for reply.
I have no problem with purchasing a new SATA HD 500GB or 1TB, I currently have 4 internal SATA HDs, please see below:
Bay 1. 1TB System HD
Bay 2. 1TB System HD BUP using Time Machine
Bay 3. 750 GB Recently Completed Projects Archival HD [a second copy of these is transferred to external HDs also]
Bay 4. 1TB Stock and Current Projects HD [contains all stock video, audio, graphic assets etc, plus current HDV format and other current “offline” level projects]In your opinion should I keep the Time Machine BUP happening with the drive in Bay 2, transfer a copy of all the media from Bay 3 drive to an new external hard drive, purchase a new say 750 GB / 1 TB SATA HD for Bay 3 and then load up a new Snow Leopard etc second system as you suggest on this drive, and of course then leave Bay 4 as is?
