Someone else was telling me I should be filming at 24fps. If I did that how would it work for me showing it on television that broadcasts in 30fps?

if my documentary is going to be aired on TV and sold on DVD should I just stick with 30?

what the heck do I do now with a film I’m already making where I filmed one interview at 30fps and 1/30 shutter? can I film the rest at 1/60 shutter and edit in the 1/30 shutter footage or would that screw it up?

I also read something odd about every time you have to render an effect using sequence menu>Render that it degrades the AVCHD files. I have seen others edit AVCHD and when they render no quality is degraded. I don’t know why that is for some people

I’m not using the same camera referenced in this topic but I can for sure tell you that my canon xa20 and canon xa10 do the same thing unless I switch the frame rate to 1/30.

    709. Don’t know what you mean by profile. Anyway, I was able to set the color chart in premiere. Not sure how resolve is supposed to be any better. Worked fine in Premiere

  • Well I exported my sequence as xml final cut. Imported that info resolve and the transitions couldn’t be applied. This sucks. Now I have to reapply them all over again.

    Bryce

  • So there is no way to display a a window within resolve onto a second display?

    Bryce

  • okay, I was looking at tutorials of Resolve this afternoon and I am wondering if I should export my entire project in premiere and import into Resolve or export individual clips? The tutorials on Lynda showed multiple clips broken up into thumbnails.

I really want to experiment with Resolve along with the tutorials but don’t know how to apply this workflow to my own film if It’s already been cut with transitions added etc. Am I correct that having transitions added will screw up the color correction in resolve?

    Thanks,

  • okay great. Is it possible that resolve will eventually not be free? I’m a little skeptical that a program can be free for ever.

    Bryce

  • Weird. When I exported my movie as pro res and imported it in resolve the colors were off.
