Thanks for the tips. Will try them all going forward.

I have a sequence with maybe 20 small segments and I want to run a smoothcam filter on each small bit (and thus export it first so I don’t have to wait 4 hours while it smoothcams the whole 60 minute source file).

I couldn’t get this to work. Can’t find Smoothcam in Motion and Final Cut still uses the whole file when I roundtrip a clip.

I don’t know why I needed this help but it just never occurred to me to do this in the Layers sidebar. I tried it everywhere else – Timeline, File Inspector…

    I’m usually smarter than this.

Thanks for the help. I have the embarrassing feeling I would have been stumped for a while.

  • I don’t know if Ms. Disco is still looking for answers, but at least count me as interested in following the discussion and learning more about scrubbing away noise with poor signal-to-noise ratios…

I face similar problems and would like to clean the audio mess up as much as possible.

  • Anyone?

If I take footage that exists in the timeline presently (imported at) 720×480 MTSC DV(3:2) and change the whole thing to, say, HD 1440×1080, will I run into problems later or compromise the quality of the video / framerate?

My thoughts are that this will simply expand the footage and allow it to be played on higher res TVs with crisp titles and so on, but I don’t know if there is a downside.
