  • Thank you everyone for your input. You’re all right. I tried transcoding to the ProRes Proxy and it works perfectly. The director never even knew I was in low-res haha.

    Take care!

    Ah, I see. THANKS!

For myself (and anyone who reaches this issue), I see the green dot on the clip. When I go into Effects mode and pull up the Effects Editor, there is nothing there. However, when I go to my Motion Effect Editor, I can see it is set at 250%. If I “Promote” the effect where the Motion Adapter is, like you said, I don’t see any means to change the speed to “1:1”, however if I click the Speed Graph, I can adjust it from 250% to 100%.

    (I’m using Avid 5, btw)

On a separate note, the only way I am able to utilize this 59.94fps footage is if I’m linking to them via the AMA. This footage I’m using is originally coming from the 7D (h.264). The 23.98 footage transcodes to mxf beautifully with no issues. However, when I try to transcode the 59.94fps shots, I get a message that reads

Some of the clips do not match the edit rate of the current project.

Transcode creates new clips that match the current project rate.
Because the new edit rate does not match the original clip,
you cannot batch capture, batch import, relink or link (via AMA) to these new clips.

Convert or skip clips that do not match the edit rate of the project?

I found this odd. I opened a new project with a 59.94fps setting and was surprised to see that I got the exact same message. Why the issue with frame rate when it matches the rate of the project? At the moment, the only solution I can find is to edit with the linked AMA footage, as opposed to transcoding it. I’d love to be able to transcode it to mxf but can’t get around this issue.

    Any suggestions?

Interesting. And where would I find the “motion adapter” setting?

I figured it out. If you transcode the footage to DnX, you can relink the master clip back to the original ProRes quicktime, but you must first eject the drive that has the mxf files. You also need to UNcheck the “match case when comparing source and file names”. Then it should link back.

Thanks everyone for your help and I hope this helps someone in the future!

(not sure if my last post went through, hope this doesn’t repeat)

Thanks, I watched these yesterday and followed the instructions. The only difference is that when I finish transcoding, instead of redirecting the master clips to the new mxf media, it creates new “.new” master clips. How do I get it so that it relinks the current master clips to the transcoded media?

Thank you. I’ve actually seen these videos and, in reference to them, did this process. However, it created “.new” master clips as opposed to relinking the current master clips to the new mxf files. Is it something I did wrong?
